Paint with Artist Ingrid Egeli

"Ingrid Egeli is a wonderful teacher in drawing and painting. She was able to assess where I needed knowledge in the fundamentals. Her instruction is tailored to each students needs using her expert academic knowledge, experience and kindness. She uses examples and enough info to help me progress and comprehend. She is approachable and it is apparent she loves teaching and wants the best for her students. I am very grateful and thankful to be her student. She is a master portrait artist as well as a figure painter, still life painter, pastels and many other areas" (Denise).

Private Lessons
Step into Ingrid's studio, filled with light, and access to unique artistic tools for growth and learning. Students may split the fee for a private lesson or work one-on-one with Ingrid. Her students work along side her, receiving personalized critiques through out the session. This method allows for self discovery and new learning pathways. Ingrid's curriculum is fine-tuned to meet each student's unique goals. "It is not my job to tell you how to paint. It is my job to give you the tools to paint how you like." Students excel quickly with one-on-one attention.

Virtual Creativity
Three times a year, Ingrid offers an online class called "The Selfie." This class focuses on the meaning of portraiture through self discovery. Since the dawn of time, humans have been painting "selfies". Rembrandt made the self-portrait iconic and Leonardo da Vinci created the most famous selfie in the Mona Lisa. In this class, we will discover the self through visual representation. Students are encouraged to perceive "self" in a new way. This class is a lot of fun and is taught on Google Meet; all mediums and levels welcome. Students will need a laptop and a phone to engage in the session. The first class will start during Christmas break. More to follow!

Seasonal Workshops in Florida
"The Mudhead" class focuses on color theory long held by the Impressionist Masters. Under a canopy of oaks and held in the arts district of Melbourne, Ingrid Egeli will teach students to paint the portrait outside in sunlight. Ingrid takes time with her students, meeting them at their level and addressing their individual needs and goals. This workshop teaches the color method taught by Charles Hawthorn at the Cape Cod School of Art. Artists learn to capture the quality of outdoor sunlight while painting a model with a sunhat. The first session will go over basic color theory. The second session will focus on color theory with an emphasis on features. All mediums are welcome, but oil paint is recommended. Please contact Ingrid at IngridEgeliPortraits@gmail.com for details.
